Tierd

Tierd is a social network for tier lists. You rank anything (coffee orders, breakfast foods, game genres) from S down to D, share it, and see how your ranking stacks up against everyone else’s. It’s planned as a mobile app with Expo and a web version built from the same components.

For now it’s a design: I worked out the screens with Claude on claude.ai, and these images come straight from that prototype.

The idea

• Templates. Anyone can create a template: a title, a category and a set of choices. Others then tier it themselves, so one template turns into thousands of comparable lists.
• The editor. Tap an item, then tap a tier letter. A progress bar counts what’s ranked, the unranked items wait in a tray at the bottom, and when everything is placed you post it.
• The consensus. Each template page averages every list into a community tier list, or just your friends’ lists. It shows the most loved choice, the most divisive one (the matcha latte people either love or hate), and how people tier each choice.
• The feed. Following, For you and Trending templates, filtered by category. Every list in the feed has a “Tier it too” button that opens the same template for you.
• Profiles. Lists, templates and saved templates, plus a taste match: how much you agree with someone, and on which categories.

What’s next

Building it for real: an Expo app for iOS and Android, the web version, and the backend for accounts, templates and the stats.
