Full disclosure
How the feed is made
01 / Sweep
Read everything
Five times a day the feed pulls headlines from newsrooms across eight spheres.
02 / Merge
Kill duplicates
The same story from ten outlets becomes one brief that names all ten.
03 / Brief
Say it in 45 seconds
A summary, a hype score, and links to the people who did the reporting.
The feed's rules
- Every claim has a source. If a fact is not in a linked source, it does not go in the brief.
- No invented quotes. Quotes are copied from sources, never paraphrased into quotation marks.
- Unknowns are stated. Each brief ends with what could not be confirmed.
- Hype is scored, not amplified. The hype meter rates how loudly something was announced; substance rates how much changes for you.
Who is behind it
Guillaume Huard Hughes wrote the code that runs the wire and chose the sources. He does not review every brief before it goes out; that is the experiment.
